Dr. Marc Likharovich-Fournier
Doctor / Addiction Specialist


Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Marc Likharovich-Fournier began his professional journey as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry from 1980 to 1988. Pursuing his passion for science, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Calgary, completing his degree from 1988 to 1991. He then graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the same university in 1994. Following his medical training, Dr. Likharovich-Fournier returned to Winnipeg for postgraduate training, where he worked in acute care inpatient medicine at various teaching hospitals. In 2016, he relocated to Nanaimo to continue his career as a hospitalist.
Dr. Likharovich-Fournier's commitment to addiction medicine began in 2016 in Winnipeg. He contributed to the Addiction Medicine Consult Service at Island Health from 2018 to 2020 before moving to the Okanagan Valley to establish addiction medicine services in Vernon. He later returned to Nanaimo to serve as the Medical Director at AVI Nanaimo for two years. Most recently, Dr. Likharovich-Fournier opened the Nanaimo Addiction Clinic in central Nanaimo on September 16, 2024, furthering his dedication to improving addiction care in the community.


Stella Likharovich-Fournier, RN
Nurse Prescriber
Stella is a highly experienced Registered Nurse with over 30 years of International and Canadian expertise, specializing in Intensive Care and addiction. From 2022 to 2024, she served as the Nurse Lead at AVI Nanaimo, where she played a pivotal role in establishing the First Fentanyl patches and Fentanyl tablets program in Nanaimo. As a Nurse prescriber, Stella is dedicated to improving patient care and advancing innovative treatments in her community.
Hana Bakker
Medical Office Assistant
Jan, a peer support worker at the Nanaimo Addiction Clinic, understands the importance of a welcoming, judgment-free space in the recovery Process. Drawing on his own experiences of homelessness and opioid addiction, Jan brings a unique perspective and deep empathy to his work. His journey to stability through the Sublocade program at Nanaimo Addiction Clinic not only restored his self-confidence but also affirmed the value of his experiences. Today, Jan is dedicated to supporting others on their path to recovery, ensuring that every client is seen and respected.

Hana has called Vancouver Island home for the majority of their life and is proud to serve the community as a receptionist at NAC. With a strong commitment to professionalism and patient care, they are often the first point of contact for phone calls and, when walking into the clinic, ensure a comfortable and organized environment. In addition to their role at NAC, Hana is also a certified fitness instructor, dedicated to promoting health and self-improvement inside and outside the clinic. They value being part of a compassionate team and look forward to welcoming you into the Clinic.
